Direct Account vs Nominee Account

  1. Direct Account

  2. Nominee Account

👤 Direct Account

Direct Account vs. Nominee Account

👤 Direct Account:

  • Investors can attend shareholders' meetings directly.

  • Receive dividends directly from the company without extra fees.

  • Can apply for IPOs.

  • Access performance reports of listed companies directly.

  • Manage corporate exercises like Rights Issues independently.

👥 Nominee Account:

  • Investors need to request forms from brokers to attend shareholders' meetings.

  • Dividends are subject to fees (around RM2).

  • Cannot apply for IPOs directly.

  • Need broker assistance for corporate exercises.

Conclusion

👤 Direct Account: Convenient and suitable for general investors.

👥 Nominee Account: Particularly useful for large-scale investors.
